- Customs Entry Submission: Express Customs Broker, through a secure EDI link, files all the customs entries on your behalf. This ensures a smooth and efficient process.
- Shipment Release: After successful payment, your goods are customs cleared. They are now ready to proceed to their destination.
- Delivery to Final Destination: If you require delivery to your destination, Express Customs Broker can handle it directly. Simply reach out to us for assistance.
Key Considerations When Clearing an Ocean Shipment
Shipping Documents
Now that your ocean shipment is on its way, it is crucial to arrange your shipping documents for your broker. Ensure you gather and submit the following documents promptly as they become available:
- Commercial invoice
- Bill of lading
- Packing list
- Relevant trade certificate
- Other Governmental Departments (OGD) requirements (if applicable
Arrival Notice
After a few weeks, your shipment will reach the port. A few days before its arrival, your freight forwarder will send you an Arrival Notification, providing details about the warehouse where your goods will be located.
Make sure to promptly forward the notification to your broker to facilitate a seamless release process.
Delivery
Depending on your shipping terms, your delivery may be either to the port or to your designated destination. If your terms are to the port, Express Customs Broker Canada can offer you various options for the final delivery once your shipment has been offloaded and stored in a warehouse.
